LinkedIn's own AI — verified 20 September 2026

Every AI feature LinkedIn ships — and the plan that unlocks it

LinkedIn ships 29 AI features across 6 of its products, and 21 of them need a paid plan. The cheapest way in is Premium Career at $39.99 a month, which carries 10. Sales Navigator's 3 named AI features start at $159.99 on Advanced and are absent from Core. Every AI feature in Recruiter sits behind a plan LinkedIn quotes rather than prices, and Hiring Assistant is an add-on on top of that with no published figure at any level. 10 of the 29 have no price you can look up, and this page says which, and why.

What LinkedIn actually ships

29 features, 6 products, and the state each one is really in

Read the State column before the Feature column. 13 of these are in beta or still rolling out, and 18 carry something LinkedIn refuses to publish — so on most of the list, owning the plan is necessary and not sufficient.

What every account already has

Nothing here needs a plan. One of the 5 is the post-writing tool LinkedIn has withdrawn, which still appears in guides published this year as a Premium benefit.

Premium Career — the largest block, and the one LinkedIn withdrew

Both priced Premium plans carry the same set. LinkedIn names no tier on most of them and gates several behind a rollout, so on this surface owning the plan is necessary and not always sufficient.

The business side of Premium

Sales Navigator — 3 named features, none of them on Core

The compare-plans grid checks these for Advanced and Advanced Plus. Three of LinkedIn’s own help articles say all three tiers, which is the disagreement further down this page.

Recruiter — 6 features behind a plan with no list price, plus an agent sold separately

Recruiter Lite has none of the 7 — LinkedIn’s own four-tier comparison marks it as having no AI features and no Hiring Assistant. Everything below needs a plan LinkedIn quotes rather than publishes.

Campaign Manager — no subscription to buy

Campaign Manager has no subscription fee, so nothing here sits behind a tier. You pay for delivery through the auction.

AI ad creationIt generates several ad variants — headlines, intro text and suggested visuals — which you review and edit before saving.AvailableNothing — every account has itNo charge
Brand kitOn first open, LinkedIn assembles a brand voice from your existing LinkedIn presence — past content and your Company Page — so AI-drafted ads come out on-brand without manual rework.AvailableNothing — every account has itNo charge

State is LinkedIn's own wording, not a judgement: Available means LinkedIn documents it with no rollout caveat, Gradual rollout means LinkedIn says you might not have it yet, Beta means LinkedIn warns it may make mistakes, and Withdrawn means LinkedIn's help article says it is no longer available. Prices are the US list price of the cheapest plan that carries the feature, from the plan price table, and LinkedIn now calls the plan this site lists as Recruiter Corporate simply LinkedIn Recruiter.

LinkedIn does not sell a product called "Premium AI". Its Premium pages name individual features — Message proofreader, Profile writing assistance, AI-powered insights on job posts — and never group them under an AI label. The grouped phrasing on this site is ours, for people searching that way.

The money question

Almost every LinkedIn AI question is a plan question wearing a different hat

The same 9 plans this site prices, with the number of AI features each one unlocks. Two rows are the reason this table exists: the two plans that cost more than Premium Career and carry no AI at all.

PlanMonthlyPrepaid, per monthAI features it unlocks
Premium Career$39.99$19.9910
Premium Business$69.99$47.9910
Sales Navigator Core$119.99$89.990
Sales Navigator Advanced$159.99$149.993
Sales Navigator Advanced PlusQuote only3
Recruiter Lite$170$1400
Recruiter CorporateQuote only7
LinkedIn Learning (standalone)$39.99$19.990
Premium Company Page$99.991

US list prices in USD, excluding tax. LinkedIn bills in local currency in most markets and the converted figure is rarely a straight exchange-rate conversion, so treat this as the US baseline and confirm in your own billing page before committing to an annual term. A dash in the prepaid column means LinkedIn publishes no annual price for that plan. The counts are of features LinkedIn attaches to that plan, so the 5 every account already has and the 2 in Campaign Manager are counted nowhere here — they are not something a subscription buys.

The monthly list price of every LinkedIn plan that carries an AI feature
RouteRelative sizeList price, per seat per month
Premium Career10 of the 29$39.99
Premium Business10 of the 29$69.99
Premium Company Page1 of the 29$99.99
Sales Navigator Advanced3 of the 29$159.99

4 plans, because these are the only ones carrying both a published price and an AI feature. Sales Navigator Advanced Plus and LinkedIn Recruiter carry AI and no list price, so neither has a bar to draw, and Hiring Assistant is an add-on charged on top of a contract LinkedIn already quotes rather than publishes. Two readings worth taking from the bars. Premium Business carries the same 10 features as Premium Career for $30 a month more, so the gap between them is not AI. And the two plans missing from the chart — Sales Navigator Core at $119.99 and Recruiter Lite at $170 — both cost more than Premium Career and unlock none of these 29.

LinkedIn does not promise the AI with the subscription

Its Sales Navigator generative-AI article says so in its own words, under Limits:

While we may make this feature available to a sub-set of members (for example, Advanced Plus subscribers), this is not an Advanced Plus feature offered as part of that subscription fee, and those subscribers are not entitled to have access to this feature. We reserve the right at any time to limit access and use, change the feature and/or cease providing the feature, including for reasons such as abuse, misuse or overuse.

Read that before upgrading a tier for a named AI feature. Every page on the web telling you to buy Advanced for Account IQ is advice LinkedIn has explicitly declined to stand behind. LinkedIn's wording ↗

Sales Navigator Core is $119.99 and unlocks 0 of them

The three named Sales Navigator AI features are checked for Advanced and Advanced Plus on the compare-plans grid. The step from Core to Advanced is $40 a month, and it is the same step that buys TeamLink, Smart Links and buyer intent — what else that money buys.

Recruiter Lite is $170 and unlocks 0

LinkedIn's own four-tier comparison marks Recruiter Lite as having no AI features and as unable to buy Hiring Assistant. It is the most expensive plan on this table with no AI at all — the Recruiter tiers in full.

Prepaying halves the entry price

Premium Career is $39.99 month to month and $239.88 for a year prepaid, an effective $19.99 a month. The commitment is twelve months and LinkedIn does not pro-rate a mid-term cancellation — the Premium terms in full.

Where the answer is that there is no answer

10 of the 29 have no price you can look up, for four different reasons

A blank cell reads as free, and none of these are. Each of the four is a genuinely different answer to “what does it cost”, and collapsing them is how a table ends up looking complete while being wrong.

6 sit on a plan LinkedIn quotes rather than prices

Every built-in Recruiter AI feature. LinkedIn sells the plan per seat on an annual contract through a representative and publishes no figure for it, nor for RPS or RPS+. The floor is whatever your representative quotes.

1 is an add-on with no published figure at all

Hiring Assistant. LinkedIn's product page answers “How can I get Hiring Assistant?” with a form to contact sales. It is charged on top of a Recruiter or RPS+ contract, so the total has two unpublished numbers in it.

2 have no named tier, so the question has no answer

Filters in AI-powered people search, whose help article is itself gated, and Ask for intro, which LinkedIn lists among the Sales Navigator features on by default and describes nowhere. Neither appears on a compare-plans page.

1 is no longer sold at any price

The AI-powered post writing tool for members. Its help article now reads, in full, that the tool is not available at this time and that new tooling is coming. Any page selling Premium on the strength of AI post writing is selling a feature LinkedIn no longer ships.

What LinkedIn does publish about Hiring Assistant

6 rows, and they are the whole quantitative answer to what the add-on gets you. They are per license and explicitly not pooled across users or contracts, which is the detail that decides whether a tier covers a team.

Contract and tierCandidates it may source, per license per monthApplicants it may evaluate, per license per month
Recruiter CorporateTier 12003,500
Recruiter CorporateTier 28009,000
Recruiter CorporateTier 31,50025,000
RPS+Tier 11504,500
RPS+Tier 260015,000
RPS+Tier 31,50050,000

Read from Hiring Assistant licenses in Recruiter and RPS+ on 20 September 2026. LinkedIn does not say which of the three tiers a given contract gets or how a tier is chosen. Figures circulating from public-sector procurement frameworks and resale listings are not LinkedIn list pricing, and this site does not republish them as though they were.

Two official pages, two answers

3 questions LinkedIn's own documentation answers both ways

Every competing page states one answer confidently. Both answers are below, with the LinkedIn URL each came from and which one this site prints — so if your contract says otherwise, you can see why.

Does Sales Navigator Core include Account IQ and Lead IQ?

Compare plans, stamped Updated: Aug 1, 2026 The "Account IQ & Lead IQ" row is checked for Advanced and Advanced Plus, and not for Core.

Help articles a1655021, a7475215 and a6841315 Each says, under "Who can use this feature?", that it is available with all Sales Navigator subscriptions — Core, Advanced and Advanced Plus.

What this site publishes: This site publishes the compare-plans answer, because it carries an explicit update date and is the page a buyer is sold from. If your Core seat shows Account IQ, the help articles are the reason, and neither page is out of date in a way LinkedIn has acknowledged.

Affects Account IQ and Lead IQ.

Which Sales Navigator tiers have Message Assist?

Compare plans, stamped Updated: Aug 1, 2026 Checked for Advanced and Advanced Plus, and labelled a public beta.

Help article a6847751 The "Who can use this feature?" box names no subscription tier at all. It says only that the feature is English-only and that admins can turn it off.

What this site publishes: This site publishes the compare-plans answer for the tier question and the help article for the limits, because that is what each one actually states.

Affects Message Assist.

Can Recruiter Professional Services without the Plus buy Hiring Assistant?

Help article a417251, the four-tier comparison table The Hiring Assistant row reads "Yes (add-on)" in the RPS column.

The four Hiring Assistant help articles and the product page Each carries the same eligibility box naming LinkedIn Recruiter and RPS+ only.

What this site publishes: This site publishes the Recruiter and RPS+ restriction, because four dedicated articles and the product page agree and the comparison table is a summary of them. LinkedIn has not resolved it, so an RPS customer should ask their representative rather than rely on either page.

Affects Hiring Assistant.

Native against a general assistant

An outside model can write any of this. It cannot read the network or act inside it

That one asymmetry decides the whole comparison, and it is not about model quality. LinkedIn blocks assistant crawlers, so the input a general assistant needs has to be pasted in by you — and the action at the other end is yours too.

LinkedIn featureWhat a general assistant does insteadWhere it stops
Account IQAn assistant with web search will assemble a company briefing from filings, the company site and news — which for a US public company is largely the same public material. It cannot read the LinkedIn account page, the headcount trend or your saved-account context. LinkedIn blocks assistant crawlers outright and blocks even the AI search crawlers it admits from public profiles.
Lead IQPaste a person's recent posts into an assistant and ask what they care about. The reasoning is the same and it will show its working. It cannot fetch the profile or the activity feed. LinkedIn blocks assistant crawlers from public profiles specifically, so you supply the text — and its User Agreement bars using a script or extension to collect it.
Message AssistAn assistant drafts the same first message, in any language, as many times as you like, with no per-minute cap and no credit cost for the draft. It cannot send the InMail, and it spends no credit because it spends nothing — the credit is charged by LinkedIn when you send, whoever wrote the words.
AI-powered insights on jobs and professional topicsPaste the posting and your CV into any assistant and ask the same three questions — fit, gaps, how to position. No seat, no language limit, and you can push back on the answer. It cannot open the posting from its URL, because LinkedIn blocks assistant crawlers outright. You paste the text in yourself.
Job match level and Top Applicant ratingNothing. This is a comparison against the other applicants. No outside tool can see who else applied. This is the one job-search feature on the list with no external substitute at all.
Resume TipsAn assistant will write a resume from scratch, which this feature explicitly will not, and will tailor it per posting on a phone. It cannot attach the result to a LinkedIn application, and it does not know what LinkedIn ranks the application on.
AI SearchAn assistant will turn a job description into a Boolean string or a filter list you paste into Recruiter yourself. It cannot see the candidate pool, run the search or read profiles. LinkedIn blocks assistant crawlers and its User Agreement bars scraping the site by any means, browser extensions included.
Hiring AssistantA general assistant will read a job description and a batch of CVs you paste in, rank them against your criteria, and write the outreach. It cannot source from LinkedIn, see who is Open to Work, send an InMail, or write anything into a Recruiter pipeline. LinkedIn blocks assistant crawlers outright, and its User Agreement bars scraping the site by any means including browser extensions — so the sourcing half of this product has no outside substitute.
LinkedIn blocks 12 named assistant crawlers outright

GPTBot, ChatGPT-User, ClaudeBot, Claude-User, Claude-Web, anthropic-ai, PerplexityBot, Perplexity-User, Google-Extended, CCBot, Meta-ExternalAgent, cohere-ai — each with Disallow: / in LinkedIn's robots.txt ↗, read on 20 September 2026.

The two it does admit are shut out of the member directory

OAI-SearchBot and Claude-SearchBot are allowed, then disallowed from /public-profile/, /people/search/, /people-guest/ — paths Googlebot and Bingbot are not shut out of. That is LinkedIn's position on AI rendered as a diff: index the marketing, stay out of the profiles.

So a profile URL handed to a model is not readable

A general assistant given a LinkedIn profile link will either say it cannot open it or, much more often, invent the contents and present them confidently. Paste the text in instead — which is why the prompts on this site are written to be fed pasted text.

And collecting it with a script is a separate problem

Section 8.2 of the LinkedIn User Agreement ↗ bars scraping the site by any means, browser extensions included. The native features are inside that boundary; anything you bolt on is your own exposure to manage.

Training data and the switches that exist

What LinkedIn feeds its models, and what you can actually turn off

Both lists below are LinkedIn's own, from one help article. The second is the one worth reading, because it contradicts most of what is written about this.

What LinkedIn says it uses to train content-generating models
  • Profile data
  • Generative-AI usage data — prompts, search text, requests and questions
  • Jobs-related data, including screening-question responses and stored resumes
  • Groups data, including group messages
  • Member content — posts, articles, poll responses, contributions and comments
  • Feedback
What it says it does not
  • Private messages, including InMail and Inbox
  • Log-in credentials
  • Payment methods and credit card data
  • Member-provided salary data
  • Job application data attributable to a specific member
The member setting is called Data for Generative AI Improvement

That is the control LinkedIn names over whether your data trains its content-generating models. It does not cover everything: the feedback and improvement strand sits outside it, and opting out of that one requires the Data Processing Objection form instead.

A secondary-school account is excluded either way

LinkedIn says members it believes to be in secondary school are excluded from content-generating model training even where the setting appears to be on.

In Sales Navigator the switch belongs to your admin

Account IQ, Lead IQ, Message Assist and Ask for intro are on by default, and LinkedIn says admins have the option to disable the first three in their settings. That is a contract-level decision rather than a per-seat one. Generative AI in Sales Navigator

In Recruiter, AI Messages drafts before you ask

Auto-drafting is on by default, so the draft exists whether or not you asked for one. The article we read documents the default and no member-level switch for it, so this page does not claim there is one. AI Messages in Recruiter

The models may not be LinkedIn's own

LinkedIn says the models may come from Microsoft Azure OpenAI services, and names one of them: Message Assist in Sales Navigator runs on GPT-4o and does not use CRM data. Message Assist data privacy FAQ

There is no master switch we could find

Reading LinkedIn's help centre on 20 September 2026 we found no single setting that turns every AI feature off. The controls are per surface, and in Sales Navigator the one that exists belongs to an account admin rather than to you.

Read from LinkedIn and generative AI (GAI) FAQs on 20 September 2026, together with LinkedIn's Sales Navigator and Recruiter help articles linked above. Where LinkedIn states a setting but not a menu path, this page names the setting rather than inventing the clicks.

LinkedIn AI FAQ

The questions people arrive with, answered from LinkedIn's own pages

How do I turn off LinkedIn AI?

There is no single switch. Reading LinkedIn’s help centre on 20 September 2026 we found no one setting that turns every AI feature off — the controls are per surface, and in Sales Navigator the one that exists belongs to an account admin rather than to you. The member-level control over training is the setting LinkedIn calls Data for Generative AI Improvement; the feedback-and-improvement strand is not covered by it and needs the Data Processing Objection form instead. In Sales Navigator, Account IQ, Lead IQ, Message Assist and Ask for intro are on by default and an admin disables them for the whole contract. In Recruiter, AI Messages drafts automatically by default.

Does LinkedIn Premium have AI features?

Yes, 10 of them, on both priced Premium plans — Premium Career at $39.99 a month and Premium Business at $69.99. But LinkedIn sells nothing called "Premium AI": its own pages name Message Proofreader, Profile writing assistance and AI-powered insights on jobs as separate line items and never group them under an AI label. The grouping on this page is ours, for people who search that way. Note also that the AI post-writing tool most guides still list as a Premium benefit was withdrawn; the two proofreaders that replaced it correct text you wrote rather than generating it.

How much does LinkedIn Hiring Assistant cost?

LinkedIn does not publish a price for it — not a list price, not a per-credit price, not a tier price. Its product page answers the question with a form to contact sales. It is sold as an add-on to LinkedIn Recruiter and RPS+, and neither of those carries a published list price either, so the total has two unknowns in it. Figures circulating from public-sector procurement frameworks and resale listings are not LinkedIn list pricing and are not published here. What LinkedIn does publish is the credit allowance: three tiers per contract, per license and not pooled, listed on this page.

Does Sales Navigator Core include Account IQ?

LinkedIn’s own two sources disagree. The compare-plans page, stamped updated 1 August 2026, checks the Account IQ and Lead IQ row for Advanced and Advanced Plus and leaves Core unchecked. Three help articles say the feature is available with all Sales Navigator subscriptions including Core. This site publishes the compare-plans answer, because it carries an explicit update date and is the page a buyer is sold from — which puts the entry price at $159.99 a month on Advanced rather than $119.99 on Core. If your Core seat shows Account IQ, the help articles are the reason.

Does LinkedIn use my posts to train its AI?

Yes. LinkedIn lists member content — posts, articles, poll responses, contributions and comments — among the data used to train its content-generating models, along with profile data, your prompts and search text, jobs-related data including stored resumes, and group messages. It also publishes an exclusion list: private messages including InMail and Inbox, log-in credentials, payment methods, member-provided salary data, and job application data attributable to a specific member. Both lists are LinkedIn’s own, read on 20 September 2026.

Can ChatGPT or Claude read a LinkedIn profile from a link?

No. LinkedIn blocks assistant crawlers, so a model given a profile URL will either say it cannot open it or, much more often, invent the contents of the page and present them confidently. Its robots.txt disallows 12 named assistant and training crawlers outright, and shuts the two AI search crawlers it does admit out of public profiles and people search specifically. That single fact decides most of the native-versus-external question: an outside assistant can write the message, and it cannot read the network or act inside it.

Does LinkedIn have an AI detector?

Not one you can use. The only LinkedIn surface we found that touches the question is a feedback option on a post reading "Seems like AI slop", which reports content rather than scoring it. LinkedIn publishes no AI-content label, no detection score, and no way for an author to see whether a post was classified that way. Third-party detectors score text against their own models, which is a different thing from what LinkedIn decided about your post.

What is the cheapest LinkedIn plan with AI features?

Premium Career at $39.99 a month, or $239.88 prepaid for a year — an effective $19.99 a month — which unlocks 10 of the 29. The comparison worth making is with the two plans above it: Sales Navigator Core at $119.99 unlocks 0, and Recruiter Lite at $170 unlocks 0. Both cost more than Premium Career and neither carries a single AI feature. All figures are US list prices excluding tax.

Where to next

Decide the plan, not the feature

29 features, 21 of them behind a plan, and 10 with no price you can look up. The cheapest route in is Premium Career at $39.99 a month; the two plans above it at $119.99 and $170 carry none.
